Van Brunt designed the iconic Memorial Hall at Harvard University, the building still used for matriculation of first year (freshmen) students. The building was designed by Architects Henry Van Brunt and Frank Howe. This CWCE Building of Electricity (Shown above) may have been the FIRST building in America, ever totally lit up at night. Visitors were now able to visit the building at night the Melbourne Centennial International Exhibition was the first in the world to have night-time viewings. In 1888 electric lighting was installed in the Royal Exhibition Building (which is the only remaining 19th century exhibition hall in the world), for the Melbourne Centennial International Exhibition.
